( what christians believe in )001. Christians believe that God is the creator of all people, the world, the universe, and everything seen and unseen. Various verses can be found in the book of Genesis.
002. Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that he is one with God, and that he was sent here for our salvation. In JOHN 10:30 (NLT), Jesus speaks – “The Father and I are one.”
003. Christians believe that Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit of God and born through the Virgin Mary. MATTHEW 1:18 (NLT) – "This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit."
004. Jesus suffered and died for our sins. He was falsely accused of being an anti-government rebel and, in MATTHEW 27:23-56, it states that he was brought to Pontius Pilate to be executed through crucifixion. He was mocked, beaten, taunted and then crucified (killed).
005. After Jesus died, he was buried in a tomb that was owned by a man named Joseph, who was a follower of Jesus Christ. MATTHEW 27:57-60 (NLT) – "As evening approached, Joseph, a rich man from Arimathea who had become a follower of Jesus, went to Pilate and asked for Jesus‘ body. And Pilate issued an order to release it to him. Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a long sheet of clean linen cloth. He placed it in his own new tomb, which had been carved out of the rock."
006. Jesus was resurrected, meaning that he died and came back to life. The resurrection of Jesus is described in various places throughout the Bible's New Testament, including in the New Testament book of JOHN 20. The people who believe in Jesus will be resurrected to eternal life in Heaven. Those who do not believe in Jesus will be condemned, eternally, by their own sins, as explained in JOHN 3:18.
007. Jesus ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father. This happened after Jesus was resurrected. Everyone can go to Heaven, through faith in Jesus Christ. MARK 16:19-20 (NLT) – "When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down in the place in honor at God‘s right hand. And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs."
008. Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. In MATTHEW 24:30 (NLT), Jesus is quoted as saying that he will return: "And then at last, the sign that the Son of Man is coming will appear in the heavens, and there will be deep mourning among all the peoples of the earth. And they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory." Additional details are provided elsewhere, such as in the New Testament passages of JOHN 5:28-29 and 2 TIMOTHY 4:1-3.
009. All people may receive salvation in the name of Jesus Christ. ROMANS 10:12 (NLT) – "Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him."
010. People are forgiven and saved if they confess their sins to God. ROMANS 10:9-10 (NLT), "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved."”For God so loved the world that he
Gave his one and only Son, that w-
hoever believes in him shall not p-
erish but have eternal life.”
- JOHN 3:16
That is basically what Christian’s believe in. The main events from the Bible anyway. But of course, there is a lot to it then just that. There is so much more than that. I know that even if I read the whole Bible, I sill wouldn’t know everything about Christianity. I have to live through it and understand it.
